Mind Your Garden + Blue Zones Project Urban Farm Tour
I had the pleasure of shooting this super cool farm tour put together by Blue Zones Project and Mind Your Garden, my brother and sister-in-law's urban farm in Fort Worth, Texas.
I have to admit, I am was bit rusty with shooting non-automotive events. Automotive and motorsports events are the usual shoots for me so it took me some time to get back in the swing of it. Glad I made it out and pushed through!
My brother Steven and sister-in-law Ursula started Mind Your Garden to provide the community with not only locally grown veggies but also as a hub for nutritional education. Such a positive way to use their property of 3.5 acres. Super proud of them. The photos above show volunteers from Growth Southeast clearing out the crops to make room for new growth. Volunteers are a key component of the farm's survival so super cool to see everyone working together and having a great time.
My brother Steven is a Marine, husband, the father of two wonderful kiddos, and a landscape designer. He enjoys helping out at City Posts Church where he not only attends but is also in charge of opening the service with scripture and commentary before pastor Ricky's sermon for the week. They make a great team - proud of you brother!
The folks at TCU work closely with Mind Your Garden and were in attendance with their own display and students sharing their knowledge on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Go Frogs!
Had a great time shooting and had the chance to spend time with family and friends. Thank you for the invite! Please give Mind Your Garden a follow on Instagram and check out the Blue Zone Project - they're doing some great work for our community. - Alex
